Gabe – Plumbing & HVAC Co-Op Placement

Gabe took part in a Co-Op placement where he gained hands-on experience in the Plumbing and HVAC field. During his time on site, he learned the essentials of the trade—hanging ductwork, installing furnaces and boilers, setting up filtration systems, and running water lines. This immersive opportunity helped Gabe develop valuable skills, build confidence, and lay the foundation for a future in the skilled trades.

Addison – Education Co-Op Placement

Addison took part in a Co-Op placement that gave her a firsthand look at the world of education. Through her teaching role, she led small group activities and worked one-on-one with students to support their French vocabulary and communication skills. This experience allowed Addison to build confidence, develop classroom skills, and make a meaningful impact on young learners.

Delaney – Physiotherapy Co-Op Placement

Delaney took part in a Co-Op placement in the field of physiotherapy, where she gained hands-on experience by shadowing professionals and supporting patient care. Her role included prepping hot packs, TENS machines, and ultrasounds, as well as ensuring all physio equipment was clean and ready for use. Through this experience, Delaney saw how care, precision, and teamwork come together to support recovery.

Alex – Automotive Service Technician Co-Op Placement

Alex took part in a Co-Op placement as an Automotive Service Technician at Rosie’s Auto, where he got hands-on experience under the hood. Throughout his placement, he learned how to service vehicles, change brakes and rotors, diagnose and repair mechanical issues, and maintain a clean and organized garage. This real-world experience helped Alex build a solid foundation in the automotive trade—one repair at a time.

Lucas – Retail Meat Cutter Co-Op Placement

Lucas took part in a Co-Op placement as a Retail Meat Cutter, where he sharpened his skills in the butchery trade. During his time on the job, he learned the art of cutting meat, making sausages, and understanding the different cuts and types of meat. This hands-on experience gave Lucas a taste of the trade—and a deeper appreciation for the skill and precision behind the counter.

Dustin – General Carpentry Co-Op Placement

Dustin Sewell took part in a Co-Op placement as a General Carpenter Apprentice, fast-tracking his education and working toward his Level 1 Carpentry. Through hands-on experience, he mastered key tasks such as nailing decking, cutting materials, pouring concrete, building forms, and maintaining a clean, safe job site. Dustin didn’t just learn the trade—he laid a strong foundation for a successful future in carpentry.

Jaylynn – Aircraft Maintenance Co-Op Placement

Jaylynn took part in a Co-Op placement at Minaki Aircraft Repair Service, where she learned the ins and outs of aircraft maintenance. Her hands-on experience included float plane maintenance, removing panels, changing struts, replacing exhaust systems, and working with specialized aviation paint. This unique opportunity gave Jaylynn valuable skills and insight into a high-flying career in aviation.

Taz – Healthcare Co-Op Placement

Taz took part in a Co-Op placement at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, where he gained hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of healthcare. His placement included observing surgeries, learning about procedure preparation, anesthesia, and patient monitoring. Taz was especially excited to learn how to suture and to scrub in with full PPE—getting a true behind-the-scenes look at the surgical field.

Kianna – Auto Body & Collision Repair Co-Op Placement

Kianna took part in a Co-Op placement focused on Auto Body and Collision Damage Repair, where she gained real-world experience in a fast-paced, hands-on trade. Her tasks included taking apart and reassembling bumpers, assisting with windshield replacements, detailing vehicles, and prepping parts for paint. This placement gave Kianna a solid introduction to the auto body industry—and she loved every minute of it.
